Actually, now that they're gone, I see they left most of the core branches that gave it its shape... the "skeleton" so to speak -- plus some foliage clusters. They just trimmed it back tremendously, which I think it needed. It feels more airy now. My gut says this is good for it and it'll put out like crazy, the way my jasmine is doing.

It's just a shock. At least it teaches me more about what to ask next time! Hopefully I can just leave it alone now for several years.

I get shaky when the barber trims more than two inches off my hair! Talking about having problems letting go of things.
