I'm so bad...
So I was reading about how the Philadelphia Free Library system is closing due to lack of state funding, and how this may well start happening in many cities, despite the fact that free libraries' computers are where many of the unemployed go for job hunting and info about federal assistance, and seniors go there for info about social security (much of this info only available online).
And I thought, "Well, at least we now have a president who cares about education, who may realize this is a problem and kick somebody with a view to doing something about it."
And then I thought, "Oh, I'm being unfair to W. His wife is a schoolteacher, after all!"
And then the little voice in my head said, "Yeah, but she looks like Dolores Umbridge."
And then I scolded myself for judging someone by looks, when she actually DOES care about education!
And then I went and did this anyway, because I couldn't resist:

Now, back to work...

I want to see this posted somewhere. If I had a (working) color printer, I would post this on my office door and I don't post things on my office door.

Copyright, augh...
I'm definitely going to send it to my Mom, who works with a lot of teachers whose jobs have been made infinitely more hellish by No Child Left Behind. Maybe they'll start passing it around.
I still need to mail you gramma's teapot!
I shall print out a larger size and enclose it. :)

The scary part is, Umbridge looks like she's got more brains working behind that 50s facade.
(Off-topic theater: Did you see my "5 Things that Never Happened in Lord of the Rings" ficlet?)

And now I have!
And Tolkien expended a good chunk of ink trying to explain away some of those! (Especially why the Three suddenly pooped out just because Sauron's ring did).
I need to review copyright. 1) Is it acceptable to use the Umbridge photo since it's parody? 2) Is that Laura Bush picture in the public domain, since it's from the US government?
Because I'm so tempted to tidy up the graphics, make them more woodcut-ish in Painter, and see about setting up a Zazzle store.
I probably couldn't use the Umbridge photo, but if the Bush photo is PD, most people who see it would recognize the resemblance in context.

I'm guessing the Bush photo is in the public domain, but make sure it's not copyright Reuters or something. Those media people are happy to fine the pants off you if they can.
