More artistical stuff.
Apr. 23rd, 2005 06:25 pmThe trouble is, most of my stuff is too personal to be public, so the public parts of this LJ probably look like a bizarre mishmash of Egotism (my creative stuff), Web Flotsam (funny stuff I find on the web), and the occasional political rant, none of which are explicitly soul-baring.
Soooo* drumroll* for tonight, egotism!
My poetry book is up (at long last) in the Library of Imladris"! My silly little fanficlets are up too--old Elrond/Elros thing, old Three Hunters thing, angst-o-muffin CelebrÃan piece-- but it's the poetry that I'm glad to get Officially Archived at last. A lot of it has appeared before in one place or another, but it is goofily satisfying to have one's scribbles housed in Elrond's library along with tomes of lore (which we are also creating), even if it's no more real than Sandman's Library of Unwritten Sequels.
To my delight, I share a shelf with Tara, since we both write too much: right now we're the only authors under "T". :)
Eithil commented that she still gets Tara and me mixed up sometimes. You'd think Tara's Glorfindel ruler icon and my Throbbing Pomegranite of Doom* would distinguish us, but nooooooo.
Er: yes, the pomegranite. It's a Silmaril. No, really. Blood red. Pulsing like a beating heart. I approve of the un-fluffy factor, but it always makes me think it's been freshly cut from the belly of the Wolf. I keep expecting Beren to show up saying, "um, you wouldn't happen to have saved my hand in an ice bucket, wouldya?"
Oh, while I'm talking about nothing of ANY consequence whatsoever— Julian, you mentioned baseball in an otherwise serious entry I didn't want to to disturb. For reasons I can't fathom, I've gotten addicted to listening to baseball on the radio. It's helping my housecleaning, but I have not the foggiest CLUE why I would suddenly have an attack of Sport. The Dodgers. Even if they did trade away my favorite player (the catcher, totally unglorious fellow, went to Florida and got hit by four hurricanes) right after I got fond of them.

Date: 2005-04-25 02:32 am (UTC)Anyhow, you can comment about any old topic you want, in my LJ. I mean, gosh, if I mention it, it's fair game, even if it's competing with Andrea Dworkin.
(I listen to games while I drive. Keeps me awake.)

Date: 2005-04-26 02:36 am (UTC)But I'm glad folks have found it useful. What/where is MEFA?
Great avatar by the way. Hildebrant bros. usually drive me nuts but that one is pleasing!

The MEFAs are the Middle-earth Fanfiction Awards, which are a new award (this is their second year) for Tolkien fanfiction.
Thanks on the avatar. I am not big on Hildebrant either, but that had a couple that made good avatars. :-)
