I've found that email I sent you when you were first appointed ruler. I assure you that I don't use "YEEEEEEHAW" as a subject line very often. You have the dream, you have the vision and spark that makes people want to write well, play well, and bring the best of Middle-earth to life. You always have more good ideas. Most of all you have tact and patience, and if there is a temper lurking behind that diplomatic façade, you are brilliant at holding it in check to work with people.
You listen.
You convey a little of that same spark that makes people like Aragorn and want to follow him: a shining heroism mixed with humble compassion such that he regards hobbits and wizards alike as his friends, as they do him.
No change of position will change this truth, or change what you mean to us. You are not turning back for one last glimpse of Rivendell with tears in your eyes. For you aren't leaving us. Your place in the Council of Elrond will be there tomorrow, even if you've changed seats.
