Time to break out the candles.

If you haven't heard of Earth Hour before, this explains it pretty well:

Check out this video starting at 1:15. I love seeing the pyramids and the Parthenon take a night off.

Ha, it's a quiet night.

I called up LA's only radio news station, and they interviewed me on the radio about Earth Hour.

Luckily I had a commercial break to think about what I was gonna say.

"At the least, we're all saving a little money, and at the most, we're saving the planet for our grandchildren." They liked that.

(I've unplugged everything in the house except the fridge, the stove, and the wifi modem. Oh, nerditude. Yes, this laptop is unplugged, and I'm listening to the radio online.)

Non-essential lights went out at:
• Staples Center, Nokia Plaza and LAX in Los Angeles
• Golden Gate Bridge
• Santa Monica Pier
• The Queen Mary hotel in Long Beach

And many cities and government buildings around CA.

Guess I'd better poke Irvine next year to get them involved.
