Fourteen years after moving to Socal...
Apr. 7th, 2010 05:26 pm... I finally have more than just water, kitty grit and cat food, and "oh, my camping supplies should do it" for my disaster preparedness kit. (I used this list, except my old crank radio is in the car).
I love having a patio. I found a stucco-colored heavy-duty plastic tub and put together the whole kit in a back corner of the patio, where it barely shows. So it's outside.
Everything from water to a wee emergency tent I've had for years to a few cans of asparagus.
And peanuts, water and a smaller kit for the car. Freebie Dodger stadium blankets come in handy, as does the "hide the body" hidden trunk compartment in a Prius.
ETA 4/8: Another mild aftershock this morning. Wobble wobble wobble...
