Obsession update...

... as usual coupled with guilt, but... well... I'm enjoying this.
So here it is, my page that's generated over 14,000 hits in less than a week:
The Boy with the Bow
I thought surely 5gigs of bandwidth transfer a month would do for a web site, but alas, I underestimated Bloom fans; in 3 days I've had 3 gigabytes worth of hits. I had to strip out the pictures on the chief article causing the furor. The good news is that I'm slowly changing it from a grade C fan geeking page to a grade A "insider's look", and the company selling the movie replicas is definitely going to host it when it's finished. I'm communicating with them about it now. That will ease my mind about copyright and allow me to do it properly.
I'm still badgering them to let me do and include four mini-interviews as well:
~ the prop people who made the bows and arrows
~ a digital fx person who worked on the archery stunts CGI
~ the choreographer who blocked out the physical stunts
~ Bloom's archery trainer
My Mom, of course, is asking if I'm going to get paid for this. I kind of badgered these people into hosting my page. Hmm.
Ask them for a penny any time someone clicks on a banner ad to their product catalogue? I'd probably make a few hundred dollars a month that way.
I have my Tolkien books, the ones I got on eBay. The Lórien story is puttering along happily. I'm learning Elvish, slowly but surely. All my MUSH energy has totally been sapped away by Tolkien fandom, which I've always had, but which has suddenly blossomed into a full-force obsession.
I want to keep apologizing. I'm screwing people over, not doing all the other stuff I used to do.
But dammit, I'm having so much fun.
