That's all I have to say. (Well, not really, this being me, but "wow" sums it up.)
Evacuation of Catalina Island on Thursday.
Tremendous kudos to local and state firefighters. The town of Avalon is all old, old, OLD houses (think matchboxes) crammed close together. The 4,000 acre wildfire claimed a few outbuidings, one house, and it's mostly contained now.

akycha and I took over to Avalon the last time she visited -- on any clear day when I'm taking my beach walk.
