Lord of the Stupid
Feb. 14th, 2005 09:03 pmIn my wanderings across the tree-woven lands, I have seen much which is fair, and wondrous. I have seen the Wise and the Great.
These would not be they.
Here is a motley collection of online LOTR humor which has made at least a lot of people laugh.
The Most Famousest of Hobbits
• The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins
There can be only one. (Thank Eru)
"Tom was telling an absurd story about Badgers and their queer ways..."
• Two Towers Badger EE
(from the Badger Badger Badger people)
• My own discovery of badgers in canon.
Boromir's Bright Ideas
very funny. I wish there were more of these.
• Cellphone at the Council
• A catapult?
• One does not simply walk into mortar...
• There is a sequel to this which is utterly rude, but has its moments. Luckily or unluckily I can't find it.
One Ringy Dingy, Two Ringy Dingy
• Good Lord of the Rings!
starts out so-so, but it had me in stitches by the end. Obviously done shortly before the first film was released.
Only mildly funny
good for boredom.
• Mashed Taters.
Flash Sam Gamgee and Gollum. Stupid but has badger value.
• One ring to RULE THEM ALL
There are several of these; see the pulldown menu. They're horribly geekboy-ish, but it does feature a flash animation version of "The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins", and Wayne the Goblin from this series is mildly popular.
• Lords of the Rhymes
Another pair of horribly annoying geekboys, Hobbit rap. Sometimes funny. Can someone confirm for me that "Black Riders" is a Black Sabbath parody?
I know what hunts you... and they have toasting forks.
Non-animated classics of Tolkien humor..
• Hand Puppet Theater
Hand puppet parodies of the films. "Help, I've superglued my hands to a flaming bowling ball!"
• Lord of the Peeps
Origin of my avvie. They're still stuck at the gates of Moria, alas-- I think they got responsible or something. LOTPeeps rocks.
• Very Secret Diaries
Just in case you hadn't gotten around to reading them all.
• The 1000 word Silmarillion.
Snortage value proportional to geekage. I laugh until I drool, but ... *wry grin*
