Possible privacy problem with LJ + RSS
Jun. 24th, 2007 09:05 am*EDITED FOR CLARITY NOW THAT I'M AWAKE*
Two people using the "Expressive" theme on LJ have reported that the RSS feed for their journals is posting ALL entries regardless of filters or friendslocks.
HERE is the discussion.
Others have chimed in to say they're not having the problem, and suggested old cookies are letting the web browser know the user is authorized to see past friendslocks.
Just in case, however, I suggest:
1) Check to see if there's an RSS icon on your main LJ page where your posts appear. If not, no worries.
2) If there is, try logging out, clearing cookies, and clicking on the icon to make sure that friendslocked entries aren't visible.
3) If you have the bug, go to the Customize Journal area and look for a "Syndicate" option. Turn it off.
